Western Dubuque’s Glausser rushes for school-record 389 yards in win over North Scott

Here are SBLive's Iowa high school football rankings for the week of Sept. 10:

1. Southeast Polk (4-0)

CJ Phillip carried 17 times for 97 yards and two scores, and the Rams held off Ankeny Centennial 24-21.

2. West Des Moines Dowling (4-0)

Curtis Horras caught nine passes for 107 yards in a 31-17 win over Waukee Northwest.

3. Williamsburg (4-0)

Kellen Cockrell completed 8 of 12 for 196 yards and four scores with no INTs in a 48-14 win over Fort Madison.

4. Ankeny (2-2)

Sophomore Daniel Larmie carried 19 times for 105 yards and a touchdown in a hard-fought 16-10 win over Johnston.

5. Ankeny Centennial (2-2)

The Jaguars’ losses are last week’s 24-21 setback to No. 1 Southeast Polk and a one-point loss to No. 4 Ankeny.

6. Western Dubuque (3-1)

Grant Glausser rushed for a school-record and Iowa season-best to date 389 yards on 31 carries and scored four TDs in a 31-24 win over North Scott.

7. Van Meter (4-0)

Austin Baumhover completed 7 of 8 for 161 yards and two TDs in a 56-22 win over Clarinda.

8. Central Lyon/George-Little Rock (4-0)

Lions are averaging nearly 52 points a game, and Friday’s 47-14 win over Sheldon was first time they surrendered double digits.

9. North Scott (3-1)

Lancers will have to regroup on defense after allowing 509 total yards in the 31-24 loss to Western Dubuque.

10. Bettendorf (4-0)

Charlie Zimmerman completed 11 of 21 for 155 yards and two touchdowns as the Bulldogs trimmed Linn-Mar 21-14.

11. Creston (4-0)

Cael Turner completed 11 of 12 for 431 yards and five TDs, and Brennan Hayes caught 3 passes for 213 yards and two TDs in a 50-21 win over Carroll.

12. Pleasant Valley (3-1)

That’s three straight impressive wins for the Spartans (CR Kennedy, IC Liberty, CR Prairie) after an opening-night loss to Bettendorf.

13. Bondurant-Farrar (3-1)

Titus Cram rushed 23 times for 106 yards and two TDs and picked off two passes as the Bluejays scored a key win over one of 4A’s elite programs.

14. Johnston (2-2)

Dragons couldn’t generate enough offense in a 16-10 loss to Ankeny, and face 3-1 Waukee and No. 1 SE Polk in the next two weeks.

15. Lewis Central (2-2)

The Titans couldn’t overcome a minus-4 in the turnover column in their 36-26 loss to Bondurant-Farrar.

16. Davenport Assumption (3-1)

Jake Timmons completed 12 of 17 for 210 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-6 win over Dubuque Wahlert.

17. Harlan Community (3-1)

Will Arkfeld threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-6 win over Sergeant Bluff-Luton. They’re at Creston this week.

18. ADM (3-1)

Aiden Flora passed for 160 yards and four scores, and ran for 174 yards and two more TDs in a 47-14 win over Norwalk.

19. Cedar Rapids Xavier (2-2)

Pella’s Luke Hardman threw for 306 yards and three TDs as the Dutch stunned the Saints 31-21.

20. Grundy Center (4-0)

Colin Gordon completed 10 of 11 for 171 yards and three TDs in a 49-0 win over East Marshall.

21. Underwood (3-1)

Maddox Nelson rushed 28 times for 183 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-12 win over AHSTW.

22. Cedar Rapids Kennedy (2-2)

BJ Henry made 3.5 tackles for losses, including 1.5 sacks, in a 45-7 win over Cedar Rapids Washington.

23. Glenwood (3-1)

Tristan Meier rushed for 129 yards as the Rams beat Denison-Schleswig 28-14 and will travel to Lewis Central this week.

24. North Polk (3-1)

BJ Tate ran 23 times for 200 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-7 win over Humboldt.

25. Solon (3-1)

Conlan Poynton rushed 19 times for 218 yards and three touchdowns as Solon upset Mount Vernon 37-20 to reclaim supremacy in the Highway 1 rivalry.
